The Manhattan School for Children is a school of choice, which means parents, by choosing to send their children to this school, are expected to be active participants in their children's education. For some families that might mean weekly involvement. For others it might mean participating in a special fundraiser or school outing with the children. Volunteering at recess is an enjoyable and important way to pitch in.
Children in grades K–6 have recess every day. This means there are many opportunities for you to visit your child, meet his classmates or even play with children in the entire grade level. Students are supervised by teachers and by much-needed parent volunteers, who are enthusiastically welcomed!
