In the first few weeks of the school year, your child’s teacher will post a sign-up sheet asking for volunteers to serve as Class Parents. Classes can have as few as two or as many as five Class Parents. Class Parents serve as liaisons between the parent community and the school. Throughout the year, they help with a variety of tasks such as coordinating field trips, communicating important school news to the other families in the class, organizing potluck dinners for the parents, soliciting volunteers for various fundraising events and coordinating Scholastic book orders.
Serving as a Class Parent is not time-consuming or difficult. For newcomers to the school, it provides a wonderful opportunity to learn more about MSC and to meet fellow MSC parents.
